We conserve water here on our place with a city hook up and a well, no sense in wasting it. We need rain barrels. I am glad it all worked out.Valhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02010027331702396503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25059881.post-87781507536834728522009-07-21T15:51:27.251+02:002009-07-21T15:51:27.251+02:00Mary - Wow you have water delivered there and then...Mary - Wow you have water delivered there and then have to wait till the next delivery? Puts our little troubles with the pump to shame! At least we get to shower every day when it is working.

Marcheline - I hadn't even thought about scratching the tub - I just used a plastic container to bale with.

Natalian - I guess you had very clean floors though! It is grim living without a washing machine with small children in the house, I sympathise.

Rose&Thorn - I think it would be great if all new houses were built with rain tanks and solar panels for heating water then we'd really be getting somewhere is using our resources better.Kithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11594062064082350697noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25059881.post-27309156330278841882009-07-21T15:40:35.591+02:002009-07-21T15:40:35.591+02:00Oh, do I sympathize! The same amount is delivered to every home, and while a couple might be able to make do with it, a household with three teenage girls cannot. For the first time in my life I learned how to go a whole week without having a shower.

Back in Scotland, it's like magic: our water flows freely and never runs dry. And yet, we've all changed. My kids and husband can now wash the dishes without letting the taps run like Niagara Falls.Mary Witzlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06458299046574564155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25059881.post-61512502105949192162009-07-21T13:56:50.027+02:002009-07-21T13:56:50.027+02:00I was having a similar thought this week when my w...I was having a similar thought this week when my washing machine decided to clean my floors instead of my clothes! It is amazing how once something we become reliant on is taken away that we realise how grim life is without it!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25059881.post-56724667631623722452009-07-21T13:27:14.969+02:002009-07-21T13:27:14.969+02:00That word "slurry"... you can almost sme...That word "slurry"... you can almost smell it from here.

Great water appreciation post! Had me wondering, though - how do you transfer tub water to the loo without scratching the enamel on the tub?Marchelinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11201825708442679157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25059881.post-58791190369528159352009-07-21T10:06:00.148+02:002009-07-21T10:06:00.148+02:00This post reminds me of an advert from the radio, ...This post reminds me of an advert from the radio, where they say that the next world world will be fought over water - I can believe that.
