Ever since I gave my husband a hard time for cutting garlic on my fruit chopping board, he has had a plan to label the boards and avoid any confusion for the uninitiated into my complex system of wooden boards.
Finally on Saturday he put the kids to work burning names into the wood. I'd envisaged lethal red hot pokers being needed, with major danger to life and limb.
All it actually took was some sunshine and a magnifying glass each and it took only a few minutes. Now they are looking for more wooden objects to practise their new-found skills on.
And I'm the proud owner of some designer labelled chopping boards. There is also one called Meat and another named Cheese.
That's really cool. Is there a punishment system set up for anyone who ignores the labeling and cuts food using the wrong board? I know, I know, the magnifying glass!
ReplyDeleteYou guys have some weird looking fruit down there.
BWAHAHAHAHAAAHHHH!
Sorry, one of those days.
what a great idea! you have a very creative husband. i think my husband would appreciate having labels too. how fun!
ReplyDeleteMarcheline - I don't think we need to worry about anyone using the wrong boards any more - the girls keep a close eye on which board I'm using and I get told off if I take a short cut and chop something on the wrong board - sigh - the boomerang effect!
ReplyDeleteOh and the fruit and vegetable is the same board - one name at each end so the spinach had to do for both!
That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh that is TOO COOL. Can they come do mine?
ReplyDeleteKit,
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny - double duty boards! Labeled! You are cracking me up over here... I think someone is getting happy with the magnifying glass, and you'd better keep an eye on the rest of your stuff - especially if it's flammable! Hee hee!
I am SO envious! I've given up on getting my family to see the need for this. Every once in a while, someone will moan about their apple tasting like red pepper or garlic, and I just shrug my shoulders. If they only did things MY way, this would never happen! (Sigh...)
ReplyDeletewow, nice table you have there
ReplyDeleteUm... hey, Kit.
ReplyDeleteJust so you know, we're not going to put up with this post until Christmas.
Write something, woman!
I'm just saying.
8-)

Brilliant! You and Charlotte in Germany are both blessed with such crafty husbands! Although, I have to say that mine is a dab hand at hanging painting straight and putting up fab shelves :) Bless!
